Adult-Use Cannabis Licensing Now Open


On March 31, 2021, New York State passed the Marihuana Regulation & Taxation Act (MRTA) which legalized adult-use cannabis (marijuana) in the state. With its passing, MRTA established the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM). The agency is operated by the Cannabis Control Board and regulates adult-use, hemp, and medical cannabis.

In 2022, the OCM issued guidelines for the issuance of licenses for growers and businesses who are looking to enter the cannabis industry. ** As of March 14, 2022, folks interested in cultivating cannabis will need to apply for an Adult-Use Conditional Cultivator License. **
